Jennifer has a Master’s degree in psychology and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor. She has been a therapist since 1990 and has worked with people of all ages in a wide variety of settings. Areas of special interest include parenting, adolescent issues, relationships, substance misuse, stress management, anxiety and depression.
Education & Training
Jennifer has a Master’s degree in psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology. She is committed to on-going professional development most recently focusing on working with clients who have experienced trauma.
Areas of Expertise
Jennifer's areas of special interest include parenting, adolescent issues, relationships, substance misuse, stress management, anxiety and depression. She has created/ facilitated a variety of groups for adolescents and parents /caregivers along with presenting a number of workshops for parents and professionals.
Jennifer maintains a collaborative position and learns with clients to co-create solutions. Emphasizing strengths and competencies, she works with clients to envision a more favourable future that inspires, motivates and empowers.
Jennifer helps people bring about the changes in their life that they desire by drawing on narrative, solution-focused, and constructivist theoretical approaches.
Prior to working in the Employee and Family Assistance field, Jennifer worked extensively with children, adolescents, and families in addictions services and child and youth mental health. In 2002 she began working with Employee and Family Assistance programs and discovered her passion for this specialized work. She has continued to contract with a variety of EFAP programs in the private practice she has maintained since 2004. Jennifer worked as a supervisor of a youth addictions program for 6 years and then joined the EFAP team in April of 2011.
